Brandon is the youth pastor and the newest member of the Mt. Vernon staff.  He and his wife Bethany moved from Jacksonville, AL, where Brandon was a part-time youth pastor and owned a lawn and pool business.  As he sought God’s guidance, Brandon knew that God was affirming his passion for working with youth.  In May 2011, God led Brandon and Bethany to Mt. Vernon Church.  Brandon enjoys serving at Mt. Vernon because it does not bind itself with tradition, but rather to God’s Word and reaching people for Christ.

Brandon has a passion for working with youth, meeting them where they are in their walk with Christ and leading them to grow.  Brandon’s desire for the youth group at Mt. Vernon comes from Matthew 28:19, when Jesus calls us to make disciples.  His purpose is that as they are being discipled, they will begin to disciple their friends.  Brandon invests time and resources in building relationships with the youth so that he can disciple or “do life” with them while teaching them how to grow in their faith.

Brandon graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2009 with a B.S. in Business Management.  He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at an extension center with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
